Decree on the Granting of Indulgence during the Ordinary Jubilee Year 2025 called by His Holiness Pope Francis [N. 240513f, Monday 13.05.2024]
During the Ordinary Jubilee of 2025, all others Indulgences previously granted remain in force. All the faithful, who are truly repentant and free from any affection for sin (cf. Enchiridion Indulgentiarum, IV ed., norm. 20, § 1),who are moved by a spirit of charity and who, during the Holy Year, purified through the sacrament of penance and refreshed by Holy Communion, pray for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff, will be able to obtain from the treasury of the Church a plenary indulgence, with remission and forgiveness of all their sins, which can be applied in suffrage to the souls in Purgatory in the following ways: (1) Pilgrimages, (2) Pious visits to sacred places, and (3) Works of mercy and penance.
The Colorado pilgrimage sites for the 2025 Jubilee year are listed in the tabs below; Colorado Pilgrimage Sites. Each tab provides times for Sacraments and adoration and links to church website and an interactive Google map.
Indulgences remove temporal punishment, and since they cannot be applied to the living, except for ourselves, we think intermediately of those souls in purgatory, either ourselves or others.
The requirements for indulgences are under the jurisdiction of the Apostolic Penitentiary. There are certain conditions and prescribed works that must be satisfied. During the year of the 2025 Jubilee, Pope Francis has decreed that indulgences may be earned through pious pilgrimages.
You can simply state you are praying for the intentions of the Pope and recite an Our Father, Hail Mary and a Glory Be or the Apostles' Creed. Open this article to view Pope Francis' intentions by month for 2025.
